Privacy Policy

Zenith Pathshala ("the App", "we", "us") is a coaching-institute management application used by institute owners, teachers, and students. This policy explains what information the App collects, why, how it is stored, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this policy.
Who controls your data
The institute that operates Zenith Pathshala is the data controller. The App is operated by:

Information we collect
We collect only what is needed to run an institute. Depending on your role:
Student records
- Name, date of birth, gender, photograph
- Contact details (phone, email, address, PIN)
- Parent/guardian and family details
- Class, batch, roll number, academic stream, enrollment history
- Attendance, test marks, assignments, fee invoices and payments
Teacher / staff records
- Name and contact details
- Employment / HR details (salary, qualifications, joining date)
- Bank account details (for payroll)
- Identity and verification documents you choose to upload (e.g. Aadhaar, PAN, certificates, signature, résumé)
Account & usage
- Login credentials (managed via our authentication provider; passwords are never stored in plain text)
- App-generated content such as announcements, doubts, feedback, and schedules
- Basic technical data needed to deliver notifications and keep you signed in
We do not collect location, advertising identifiers, or device contacts, and we do not use the App for advertising.
How we use information
- To provide core institute functions: admissions, attendance, fees, payroll, scheduling, study materials, assignments, tests, doubts, and feedback
- To authenticate users and enforce role-based access (owner / teacher / student)
- To send in-app and push notifications about relevant activity
- To maintain academic and financial records for the institute
Teacher feedback submitted by students is confidential and visible only to the institute owner, never to the rated teacher.
How information is stored and protected
- Data is stored using Supabase (PostgreSQL, file storage, and authentication). Sensitive documents are kept in private storage buckets.
- Access is restricted by row-level security so users can only see data appropriate to their role.
- Images uploaded from devices are compressed before upload; identity documents are uploaded at full fidelity to private storage.
- Passwords are hashed by the authentication provider and are never visible to the institute or to us.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Information is shared only:
- Within the institute, according to role-based permissions
- With our infrastructure provider (Supabase) strictly to operate the service
- Where required by law
Data retention
Records are retained for as long as the student/teacher is associated with the institute and as needed for legitimate academic, financial, and legal purposes. You may request deletion of personal data (see below); some records may be retained where law requires.
Your rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or ask questions about this policy, by contacting zenithpathshalacoaching@gmail.com. For students who are minors, a parent or guardian may make such requests.

It explains what is permanently deleted (login credentials, profile details, uploaded documents, personal messages) and what may be retained in anonymized form for legal and accounting obligations (e.g. attendance, marks, financial records).
Children's privacy
The App is used by educational institutes and may hold records of students who are minors. Such records are entered and managed by the institute under its own authority and consent processes. We process this data on the institute's behalf to deliver the service.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
